Ongoing theoretical and practical skills development is a must for staff at all levels. More so as motor manufacturers increasingly use multiple substrates in the manufacture of their vehicles, each requiring specific product knowledge and application skills.

Colouristics

At the end of the seminar delegates will be familiar with the effect that colouristics has on the repair process:

  • The theory of colour and the effect light has on colour
  • The correct usage of all practical aids for colour matching
  • Achieve the perfect colour match by understanding the effects of each toner in the range
  • Practical matching of colours without the use of formulations
  • You are welcome to bring along any colour problems that you have experienced

Flowline: Nitrocellulose gloss from the gun range (KNL)

Cargoline: Synthetic Enamel range (SAS)

Acryline: Polyurethane Acrylic range (APU)

Plascon 2K: 2K Enamel range (PTK)

Module 3
Spray Painters Forum

Duration: 2 days

At the end of this seminar delegates will be able to:

  • Identify and prepare various substrates
  • Understand the usage of different sanding grits
  • Correctly use all products of the paint system i.e. all primers, thinners and hardeners
  • Practically apply primers, basecoats and topcoats
  • Effective use of all the latest equipment
  • Focus on topcoat applications
  • Spot repair including blend-in techniques
  • Identifying and eliminating paint defects

Extra Notes
All courses involve theory as well as practical work.
Delegates are requested to bring their own footwear, overalls and personal
respiratory equipment. Gloves and eye protection will be provided.

Bookings must be made at least two weeks in advance.

Cancellations must be made at least one week in advance to avoid a
cancellation fee of 50%.

Cost per day is R 900 (incl VAT). Courses start at 8:00 sharp and end at
16:30.
